Piecing together a rooftop AC, ceiling controls, and the right interior hardware can get frustrating fast. This kit gives you the main pieces for a ducted Furrion Chill Cube setup in one package: the 18,000 Btu rooftop air conditioner, the low-profile air distribution box, and a remote control. The air distribution box connects the rooftop unit to your RV's ducted airflow system, while the remote and ceiling keypad give you two ways to manage comfort inside the cabin.
In a ducted RV, cooling power is only part of the story. The AC also has to move air through the ceiling ductwork before it reaches the rooms and vents farther from the unit. This Furrion Chill Cube gives you 18,000 Btu of cooling capacity and 445 CFM of airflow, helping bring cabin temperatures down while pushing cooled air through longer duct runs more effectively.
A traditional AC often cools hard, shuts off, then starts again once the cabin warms back up. That can leave your RV bouncing between too warm and too cold, especially during long cooling stretches. The variable-speed compressor adjusts output as conditions change, helping the system stay closer to the temperature you want instead of constantly cycling on and off. Continuous operation also helps improve efficiency and dehumidification, while Turbo cool mode helps bring the RV down to temperature faster when the cabin is hot. Because of this variability, the system runs noticeably quieter than many traditional RV ACs, making it less distracting during TV time, conversation, or sleep.
Cool mornings and shoulder-season trips do not always call for firing up a furnace. This unit has a built-in 17,000 Btu heat pump that can provide electric warmth without using propane. In cooling mode, the system moves heat out of the RV. In heat pump mode, it reverses that process and pulls available heat from the outside air into the coach. It is useful for mild, cooler conditions, but it is not meant to replace your main furnace in cold weather.
You do not have to rely on one control location to manage the AC. The included air distribution box has a built-in keypad, so you can adjust fan speed and mode right at the ceiling assembly. The included remote gives you control from your seat or bed, and the Follow Me function senses temperature near the remote so the system can respond to the area you are actually using. A wall mount option keeps the remote within reach, and the LCD display makes settings easy to read.
Humid air can make an RV feel sticky and heavy, even after the temperature starts to drop. While it cools, this unit removes up to 1.8 pints of moisture per hour, helping reduce that damp, clammy feeling on your skin and making the cabin feel less muggy. That extra moisture removal helps the space feel more comfortable on humid camping days when cold air alone is not enough.
You are not always plugged into a full-power campsite when the RV starts heating up. This Chill Cube is 2,000W generator or inverter ready, giving you more flexibility for campgrounds, travel stops, and off-grid setups when paired with the right power source. Battery saver modes also help manage power use when you are trying to stretch your available energy. This unit runs on 115V, 60Hz power, with 1,480 watts of cooling power consumption, 15.8 amps of cooling current draw, and 11.9 amps of heating current draw. Those numbers give you something concrete to compare against your RV electrical system, generator, inverter, or campsite power before installation.
Installing a ducted AC system means lifting the rooftop unit onto the RV, sealing the roof opening, connecting the air distribution box, and making sure the controls are set up correctly. Having the rooftop unit and ducted air distribution box in one kit helps reduce parts-matching questions, but installation is still a job where the right help can make a difference. I bought 2 18k with heat pump to replace my coleman mack 15 and 13 and not enough difference to make the switch worth the cost
I've been in construction all my life, so some things come easy to me but I'm retired and 74 yrs old but with my wife's help we pulled it onto the roof and set in into place with no problems the lower to original unit to the ground ( I'll be trying to sell it soon. Hooking the inside control panel up was a breeze and wit it being n the bedroom we love how quite it is also the heat will help out on cool nights.
Working great, combo the Furrion Chill Cube with a Breez Max Smart AC controller. Now have remote access on my phone.
Missing parts. Have sent numerous emails to CS no reply.

This is a truly amazing unit. It has no trouble cooling my RV in tempratures in the mid 90's so far and on amy setting other than turbo it is so quiet it is nearly unpreseptable.
Holy Smoke. I didn't even know ETrailer sold these. Ordered the Complete package. No ordering piecemeal. It came incredibly fast and I dodged the thunderstorm by just minutes getting the old one off and the new one in place. This is the quietest AC I have ever heard. It is taking some getting used to the controls. Only had it running an hour but it is chasing us out of the room it is so nice and cold. I have never been able to have the tv so low and there is absolutely no chasing the volume. I have the Wako silencer on my front AC and it is nowhere near as quiet. A bonus is the filter is easily cleaned. The Wakos require four screws to remove the shroud and then loosten four more to remove the filter. The Wakos are a great product and I have had two of them for several years. The bedroom will be so much easier to sleep in now. Replaced a Penguin 2. The installation was an absolute breeze.
Arrived on time and in good shape. my bank did some craziness with my credit card but these folks figured it out and go me my order on time ! its going to be 107 degrees here in Ca next week. Prepped the old unit t for removal hoping to install new one tomorrow. Instructions seem straight forward. I have a forklift here at the farm to lift it into place. The old unit could only keep the trailer at 97 degrees when it was 107 degrees outside. Looking forward to the upgrade. Im also on solar and the old one drew 26amps the new on is almost half that.
The install was fairly simple. It cools my 34' trailer much better and is much quieter than the old Carrier Air V 15,000 BTU AC. If you have any mechanical skills, it is fairly simple to install.
The hardest part was getting the new unit up on top of the trailer. I used an extension ladder as a ramp, threw the winch line from my ATV over the top of the trailer and tied off to the boxed unit. I used doubled up cardboard to protect the edges of the trailer. My wife winched it right up while I guided it. Once it was on top of the trailer, I removed the old unit and using a rope I lowered it down the same ladder.
After cleaning the rubber roof around the opening with soap and water, I unboxed the Chill Cube and set it in place. Then working from the inside of the trailer, I centered the unit up in the hole and followed eTrailers video to complete the installation.
Fitting and cutting the foam divider between the discharge and return, to fit did take some effort to get a good tight fit. I did spend some time sealling the hole and duct work with foil tape as recommended in the video and I believe it was time well spent. I did use spray foam in a couple of larger gaps left by the trailer manufacturer.
Even though it was 88F outside the trailer was cool inside in about 45 minutes using the turbo mode. I then set the thermostat at 72F and it kept it cool and comfortable.
My thanks and complements to the etrailer team for the installation video. It really helped make this job much easier. From begining to end it probably took me 6 hours to complete the work but I take a lot of breaks :)
